Adult Discipleship

A faith group meeting.

Discipleship is showing others how Jesus loves them and how to love Jesus.

How do we do that?
Guiding individuals intentionally to grow in spiritual maturity.
Helping individuals discover and use their spiritual gifts, talents and abilities to fulfill Christ's mission
Equipping individuals to overcome the pressures and trials of life to become more Christ like.
Where are you in your walk with Christ?  We believe people will fall into one of these 5 levels of discipleship.  At Clough, we will meet you in the stage you are in, and walk with you to the next stage.
Level 1:  People in this stage have not yet accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.
Level 2:  People in this stage are spiritually alive; they have decided to follow Jesus, but that is about as far as they have gotten. They lack knowledge about what Jesus taught.
Level 3: People in this stage are continuing to grow in their relationship with God, and they are beginning to grow in their relationships with other Christians as well.  Although they are growing, much of their spiritual life revolves around them – meeting their needs, their desires, and their interests.
Level 4:  People in this stage are making a shift from being self-centered to being God-centered.  They are ministering to others and being doers of the Word, not just people who hear it.  They want to serve God and are beginning to see that God has created them for a purpose, and their priorities have started to change.
Level 5:  People in this stage are spiritually mature and making disciples.  They have a solid understanding of God’s Word, a deep, abiding relationship with God, and a desire to raise up other disciples.  They are intentionally making new disciples.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
